H\u00e9lder Caixinha is an assistant professor in the Department of Communication and Art at the University of Aveiro, where he teaches courses on audiovisual production, photography, science communication, and web technologies in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the field of communication sciences and technologies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

He holds a degree in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, a master’s degree in Information Management from the University of Aveiro and a PhD in Multimedia in Education from the same institution. He is deputy director of the Master’s in Audiovisual Communication for New Media and technical coordinator and operational manager of AlticeLabs@UA, an academy-business fusion laboratory.<\/p>\n

He conducts his research focused on visual storytelling (audiovisual\/photographic) applied to non-fictional contexts, transmedia approaches, the use of audiovisual repositories for the preservation and dissemination of cultural heritage\/science communication, and the use and integration of emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence in workflows associated with the aforementioned interests.<\/p>\n

He has supervised doctoral and master’s students in areas related to his research interests, namely in the audiovisual production of documentaries, and has been involved in different research projects and scientific initiatives, both nationally and internationally. He has participated in projects for the design and development of distance learning programmes and human resources training in higher education institutions in Portugal, Mozambique, and Cape Verde.<\/p>\n
